Our floating wharf, designed to overcome Broome’s significant tidal variations, to move with the tide, incorporates a 9,900-squaremetre platform with heavy lift capability, connected to the mainland via a 485 metre long link-span and causeway.
WA’s next-generation marine facility
Kimberley Marine Support Base (KMSB) has developed a modern marine logistics facility, designed specifically for Broome’s unique environment and extreme tidal fluctuations.
The new terminal within the Port of Broome, incorporates a floating wharf linked to a fixed causeway, and will allow safe and efficient 24/7 operations regardless of tide depth – driving advanced solutions, improving efficiencies and reducing costs and carbon emissions.
